APA Alignment
We support therapeutic approaches that align with the major scientific, mental-health organizations, mainly to hold a viewpoint that same-sex attractions per se do not indicate mental illness or developmental disorders and that sexual and gender minorities benefit from interventions that counteract stigma (e.g., homophobia, heterosexism, sexism, racism). Our best efforts seem to be in trying to help individuals explore what fits best for them and develop skills to manage discrimination and live positively.
