Raised in the rural community of Avon, Utah, Adam Maughan now currently attends Utah State University studying Secondary Education, with a major in English and a minor in Psychology. He hopes to be able to work as a teacher and mentor of at-risk youth. He enjoys writing, playing the piano, musical theater, being outdoors, and trying new things. Brought up in the LDS Church by an incredible family, he has always had a deep love for his Heavenly Father. After coming to grips with the reality of his sexual orientation while serving an LDS mission in Indianapolis, Indiana, he fell into a state of depression that would eventually result in his honorable release in August of 2012. After a difficult period navigating the complexities of his faith and feelings, he now finds immense joy, hope, and purpose in life. While seeking a relationship with a great man, he also places great value on his relationship with his Creator and doesn’t view the two as mutually exclusive. With ties to North Star and Affirmation, Adam firmly believes in the value of each individual’s perspective and journey.
